Peter Hutter is an audiovisual artist based in Graz, Austria. He works with time-based and generative media in the fields of performance, installation, and interdisciplinary projects. His audiovisual works are characterized by the interplay of contrasts: organic and digital, structured and chaotic, fluid and fractured, minimal and saturated, precise and erratic. The artist is particularly interested in the formation and dissolution of structures, the juxtaposition and connection of dualistic content, as well as their interactions.
In 2012, he received the ASIFA Best Austrian Animation Award for his animated film "Tekno Kabaret" and has since worked on various video and animation projects, video installations, interactive AV projects, as well as being a VJ and composer of electronic music. His focus is increasingly on audiovisual live performances. In 2024, he presented the immersive live performance "Symptoms," whose spatial visual and sound composition describes an abstract life form searching for its structure.
